With the beautiful weather this week, Kai and I decided to walk the entire 4 blocks from our apartment to our neighborhood bookstore. That is, we both walked. No stroller, no carrier.
Normally a 5-minute walk, this Kai-paced stroll turned into a 40-minute excursion. That’s 40 minutes one way. But it was one of the most memorable and enjoyable walks I’ve ever taken.
Kai stopped at every apartment building to look inside and try to open the door. He also touched every car and tried to open every car door. Even a few plants got his attention. It was such a joy to see the world through his one-year-old eyes.
